Defense of the Ancients 2, or DotA2 for short is a MOBA video game developed by Valve Corporation, where two teams compete for victory. The map consists mostly out hexes that can be either attack or defend; each with their own unique features like crevices in which players take cover from an enemy’s attacks, ramps leading up towards your base so you could hurl down ranged weapons on them.
The game of Dota 2 is played between two teams, with each team occupying and defending their own separate base on the map. Two sides battle it out with their own set of five players and try to take over enemy locations such as towers, barracks, and ancient.
Valve recently released patch 7.30 for Dota 2, which includes a lot of major changes and new content. Let’s have a look into what does this patch has to offer to the players:
Dota 2 Patch 7.30: News
Update (16 August 2021)
With the upcoming DOTA 2 update, players were being suggested to note that it will be their last major patch before (The Internationals)TI10. This means they’ll have one more chance at setting trends and cementing themselves in history. At the end of update 7.30, players can expect to see a solid list of guidelines for how things are going in-game with regards to balance and functionality. These updates will be released through sub patches as well hotfixes so keep your eyes peeled.
Update (06 August 2021)
The next DOTA 2 Update is finally here! The eagerly awaited 7.30 update will be released after the Nemestice Battle Pass ends, which means you have less than two weeks to level up your account before all of its features are inaccessible again on Friday 20th August 2017 at 11pm EST time (2am GMT).
CHERRY ON TOP:
The eagerly awaiting second season of DOTA: Dragon’s Blood Netflix anime has already begun. The first season, which introduced many popular characters like Luna, Mirana and even Terror blade to the lore in-game world was an epic watch for fans looking to learn more about their favourite video game heroes on screen without being spoiled!
Hotfixes, Skins and Chatlines
Heroes, items and balance changes have been updated on 23rd August with Update 7.30b! The update includes a list of most recent updates for each hero as well as various other improvements to game play over all – so be sure check it out if you haven’t already done.
The long-awaited cosmetics could finally be making their appearance in DOTA 2 with the release of update 7.30! Yes, it has been over 9 months since we voted on Spectre’s Arcana and here they are; ready for you guys (and girls) to get your hands on them as soon as possible.
Apart from the upcoming in-game event, it is expected that there will be a bunch of new cosmetics like Diretide 2020. However until and unless the official patch notes are released we cannot say for sure which heroes might be receiving skins or other content updates with this update.
The upcoming Nemestice summer event in DOTA 2 will be a possible link to Spectre’s Arcana. On top of featuring a color theme that is extremely similar to his iconic red and black attire, the name itself incorporates some interesting ties with phantom assasin or oracle characters who have been closely associated with this lore throughout time.
Given that the in-game chat-wheel voice lines and sprays received an overhaul recently with the Summer update on June 2nd, it is unlikely for Valve to reshuffle them so soon.
Dota 2 Patch 7.30: Gameplay Update
As always, we have some exciting updates for players. These aren’t anything major but could be pretty impactful at Divine or Immortal tier play!
- When the second pick phase changes, Captain’s Mode is now available with Dire/Radiant/Dire/Radiant to Dire/Radiant/Radiant/Dire, assuming Radiant gets the first pick
- The rolling of multiple critical strike procs has now stopped.

Major Hero Balances
Axe’s Counter Helix is now more effective. The 6s stacking debuff reduces attack damage by 20% and increases chances of procing it on Axe with his attacks, while also giving him an extra chance to trigger the skill when fighting enemies who are affected by this status effect themselves.
“Burning Barrage” is Clinkz Strafe’s new ability that fires six piercing arrows up to 900 units away. The barrage can be channelled for 2.7s at max level, making it similar in function and style of Drow Ranger’s Multishot ability!
The new and improved Tinker has been reworked to be even more powerful than before. March of the Machines has now become Defensive Matrix, a basic ability that grants 50% Status Resistance as well as absorbing up to 320 damage on an allied target when maxed out at level vi; it also comes with nearly no mana cost (100).
