Showcase Extended

Microsoft had already tempered expectations for both Xbox and PC fans. They made sure to state that there would be no major reveals at the extended showcase. This event was primarily to build upon the main showcase, and give devs more time to shine. Additionally, more trailers for games already shown were going to be part of the showcase.

That being said, there were a few pieces of news that were brand new. Let’s jump in!

The Xbox Games Showcase Extended was a slower paced, but meatier look at Xbox’s lineup of games over the next 12 months.

Valheim is coming to Xbox Game Pass as a console exclusive

Though not expectant of any new reveals, the first one was that Valheim is coming to Xbox Game Pass. PC gets it first on Game Pass this fall, while Xbox consoles get it Spring 2023 as a console exclusive!

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre coming to Xbox Game Pass

We got a new trailer for the multiplayer horror game based on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The big news? The game will be on Xbox Game Pass at launch. It will also be a timed exclusive for Xbox consoles for a while before coming to PlayStation.

Slime Rancher 2 is coming this year

A no-show at the main showcase, the console-exclusive Slime Rancher 2 was shown off in a brand new trailer. The trailer showed exploration gameplay, and the player’s base of operations; The Conservatory. It will be released in fall 2022 and be on Xbox Game Pass on day one.

Fall Guys x Halo

There has been a ton of Halo related cross integration into multiple Xbox franchises. We saw the Warthog come to Forza, and now the Pelican coming to Flight Simulator.
