They’re frequently and expertly made, include rich plots and stunning artwork.

Here’s a list of our favorite Indie Horror Games:

1. Corpse Party

Source: NintendoLife

Developed by team GrisGris and created by Makoto Kedoin, Corpse Party is really one of the best indie horror game out there. The original game spawned countless imitations in video gaming, anime, and even live-action drama television. Don’t be deceived by the game’s pixel art aesthetic; this is a traditional anime role-playing horror game. Easily a fine one of indie horror games, with plenty of blood, jump scares, and chilling voice acting.

The game got remastered many times with the first Corpse Party  made in an RPG Maker back in 1996. They tried it for mobile in 2006 but it did not work out. They made it for PC in 2008. We got an enhanced version in 2010 for PSP and iOS, in 2016 for 3DS, which finally, brings us here. This 2021 version is simply a port of the 3DS versionCorpse Party Blood Covered: …Repeated Fear  with a few additions.

The player assumes control of one of nine playable characters while they are stranded in an elementary school haunted by angry ghosts and corpses. What happens to each character in the game is up to the players. The end goal is to make it without a bad ending. It essentially falls under the survival horror category and does it in the best way possible.

Little Nightmares is a puzzle- platform single player horror game. Developed by Tarsier Studios and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game is available on Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia.

Story: Six is a 9-year-old girl in a yellow raincoat. She wakes from a nightmare on the Maw, an underwater ship. With a lighter, she searches the Maw for an exit. A pair of enormous twins who slaughter youngsters and a horde of nasty leeches lurk around this ship.

Climb furniture, crawl through ducts, jump across crevasses, cuddle Nomes, and manage your hunger. This indie horror game’s aesthetic makes it feel like a child’s nightmare. The world is too large, and players can’t battle enemies. The audience received the game really well and there is a prequel of the game.

Vlako Game Studios is the developer and publisher of this game made with the Unity Engine. It is a co-op horror game with an option to play it solo too. Getting lost in a labyrinth of thorn bushes is the stuff of nightmares, and that’s exactly what labyrinthine does. Pop-out ghosts and party popper noises set the tone for what comes later: something far more horrific.

Labyrinthine offers a four-player cooperative horror experience in which players must solve challenging puzzles, gather resources, and stay on the move to survive the game’s many terrifying encounters. Take care not to become lost in the ever-increasing tightness and complexity of the labyrinth as you make your way further into it.
