SP-X 80

In Ranked Play of Modern Warfare 2, there are multiple viable Sniper Rifles to choose from. However, currently, the SP-X 80 has emerged as the most favored option. This mirrors its popularity surge in the CDL, following the initial preference for the MCPR-300 earlier in the season.

The SP-X 80 combines the strengths of both the MCPR-300 and the LA-B 330 Sniper Rifles. It boasts excellent handling and delivers powerful shots at various distances, making it well-suited for Ranked Play Search & Destroy.

The TAQ-56 is an Assault Rifle favored by those who seek controlled recoil in their long-range weapons. Despite its damage range reduction in the Season 3 Reloaded update, it remains the top choice.

To optimize the TAQ-56’s performance, you can equip the FJX Fulcrum Pro Muzzle, 17.5″ Tundra Pro Barrel, and FSS Sharkfin 90 Underbarrel. Utilizing 5.56 High Velocity ammunition enhances long-range fights and improves HitReg.

Mobility and fast ADS speed are crucial for any competitive Modern Warfare 2 weapon. The TV Cardinal Stock increases ADS speed and offers other mobility benefits. Alternatively, for enhanced mobility, you can replace the Muzzle with the Demo Cleanshot Grip. The TV XLine Pro Stock is also a popular option.

Note that professionals are obligated to use the 17.5″ Tundra Pro Barrel due to a Gentlemen’s Agreement. However, some Ranked Play enthusiasts argue that the weapon performs better without a barrel attachment.

For those seeking a lighter alternative to the hefty MCPR-300 Sniper Rifle, the LA-B 330 is worth considering. This agile and responsive Sniper can be a formidable choice in the hands of skilled players, particularly in Search & Destroy matches.

Among CDL pros, opinions are divided regarding the three aforementioned Sniper Rifles. Notably, former OpTic Texas player Indervir ‘iLLeY’ Dhaliwa expresses a preference for the LA-B 330.

Lachmann 556

The Lachmann 556 has become a dominant weapon in the Modern Warfare 2 meta following the Season 3 Reloaded update. This loadout, recommended by LA Thieves AR player Sam ‘Octane’ Larew, will give you an edge in Ranked Play.

For the barrel attachment, you can equip the 15.9″ Lachmann Rapp Barrel. This will enhance your weapon’s damage range, bullet velocity, and recoil control. You can combine it with the FSS Sharkfin 90 underbarrel attachment and 5.56 High Velocity ammunition to further improve your weapon’s performance.

To match the speed of SMGs on the map, you also can equip the Lachmann S9 Factory Stock and LMK64 Grip. These attachments will enhance your movement speed and ADS (Aim Down Sight) speed.

If you prefer, you can swap the stock or ammunition attachments for the XTEN Ported Muzzle. Octane also mentioned that the iron sight of the Lachmann 556 is quite good, but you can also add an optic of your choice for better sight picture if desired.

VEL 46

The VEL 46 gained significant popularity in Modern Warfare 2’s Ranked Play following the Season 2 Reloaded update. The 30 Round Mag attachment received handling and mobility buffs, and the VEL 46’s damage ranges were also improved.

Enhance damage range and bullet velocity with the Tango 228 Barrel, while the Schlager Soldier Grip and Assault-60 Stock improve ADS speed.

CDL pro player Shotzzy highly praised the VEL 46 after testing it in Ranked Play. It serves as an excellent alternative to the Vaznev and is perfect for players looking to try something new.

The Vaznez-9k

The Vaznev is an excellent choice for SMG players in Ranked Play, particularly for close-range engagements. To mitigate some of its recoil, equip the Bruen Pendulum attachment.

When it comes to the stock, you have two options. First is the Otrezat Stock, and second is the Broadside FCT. If you’re confident in your aim, the Broadside FCT offers better mobility and speed at the expense of control. OpTic Texas’ Anthony ‘Shotzzy’ Cuevas-Castro considers the Broadside FCT to be the superior choice.

For the underbarrel attachment, you have two options again: the Commando Foregrip or the FSS Sharkfin 90. This decision depends on your personal preference regarding control and speed for your Vaznev loadout.

It’s worth noting that we have only selected four attachments for this loadout to maximize the attributes we aim to enhance with this weapon. Despite the reduction in its damage range in Season 3 Reloaded, the Vaznev remains the top competitive choice.

Ranked Play Secondary Weapons

In Modern Warfare 2’s Ranked Play, the X12 is the preferred choice for a secondary weapon. Renowned for its exceptional speed, this handgun has gained popularity among CDL pros.

To maximize its performance, consider equipping the XRK Lighting Fire attachment, which enables rapid consecutive shots, perfect for showcasing your trigger finger. Additionally, the Cronen Lima-6 improves ADS (Aim Down Sight) speed, while the XRK Ventor-900 enhances recoil control.

Combat Knife

To swiftly reach preferred power positions in Search and Destroy, it is highly recommended to equip the Combat Knife. This strategic choice enables players to maximize their speed and agility while moving on the map. When combined with the Double Time Perk, the Combat Knife significantly extends the duration of your Tactical Sprint, allowing for rapid navigation and quick repositioning in crucial moments. Embracing this loadout can give you a competitive edge and enhance your effectiveness in Search and Destroy gameplay.

So, that’s all for the best Ranked Play weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. You can choose the appropriate weapons based on your needs and strategy.

For primary weapons, the SP-X 80 has emerged as a favored sniper rifle, combining the strengths of the MCPR-300 and LA-B 330. The TAQ-56 assault rifle remains a top choice despite its damage range reduction.

The MCPR-300 and Lachmann 556 offer viable alternatives, with the latter gaining popularity after the Season 3 Reloaded update. The VEL 46 provides enhanced damage range and bullet velocity, while the Vaznev-9k is a strong SMG option for close-range engagements.

As for secondary weapons, the X12 handgun is the preferred choice for its exceptional speed. Additionally, the Combat Knife serves as a versatile and lethal option in Ranked Play.
