3 Must-Know About Shipment on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

Shipment is one of the maps in the Call of Duty franchise that have reached the status as the “staple map” around the community.

This map debuted in 2007 in Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, and was brought back in 2019 in the rebooted version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This year 2022, fans have been anticipating the return of Shipment in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

So what is this map all about? Will this map return in Modern Warfare 2? Will there be any changes to this? Let’s deep dive into the topics and break them down one by one.

What Is Shipment in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare?

Shipment is one of the small maps in the Call of Duty franchise that have become fans’ favorites all along.

Its first debut was in 2007, then re-released so many times from the 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot, and has become one of the map rotations on other COD franchises such as Call of Duty Mobile and the recent Call of Duty Vanguard.

As the name implies, this map has an abundance of shipping containers placed in an almost symmetrical layout.

This map is renowned for its tiny size and intense close-quarters combat setting with 12 players crammed to fight into this place.

It may make you feel a bit claustrophobic playing on this map since you couldn’t move a meter without running into someone, and you could be a victim of spawn-killing at any time.

But still, this map, again and again, becomes a fan-favorite since the small setting makes it easy to grind your camo.

Will Modern Warfare 2 Get Shipment Map?

The short answer to this is yes, Activision will bring the Shipment map to the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 around this mid-December, according to the official release.

For you who have been asking Shipment M22 release date, unfortunately Activision didn’t spill any release date for this, with the only hint being said that Shipment will be released “Mid-Season”.

Counted from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 release date on October 28th, we can speculate that the mid-season release of the Shipment will be around December 16th.

Presumably, Shipment will join the regular rotation of maps. However, fans are definitely hoping that Shipment will be 24/7 playlist so they can garner ludicrous amounts of XP and rank up their weapons.

Let’s cross our fingers and hope Activision fulfill our wish on this holiday season!

Is There Any Change on Modern Warfare 2 Shipment Map?

Teaser for the Shipment map on the 2022 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Activision has given the MW2 Shipment map teaser through its splash art that they posted back on November 9th.

If we look closely at the splash art, there is some change to its design. The upcoming version of Shipment in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is moving away from the traditional container yard setting and instead going to take place on a sinking cargo ship during a sinister storm.

While it seems that the map layouts may remain the same, the outskirts of the map appear to be quite dangerous. Activision hinted with the description, that the boundaries will possess lethal drops that may see players fall overboard.

Conclusion
