Formerly a Twitch streamer, MoistCr1TiKal, encountered significant problems during his initial YouTube stream following the conclusion of his exclusive contract with Twitch.
After exclusively live-streaming on Twitch for several years, Charlie ‘MoistCr1TiKal’ White announced on August 15 that he had mutually terminated his contract with the Amazon-owned platform, allowing him to stream on other platforms in his free time. Just an hour after making this announcement, he went live on YouTube.
In a subsequent video, Moist revealed some of the key issues he encountered during his inaugural YouTube stream and his plans for future broadcasts on the platform.
MoistCr1TiKal Discusses YouTube Stream Challenges
In a video posted less than a day after his first YouTube stream, Charlie discussed the challenges he faced while adapting to the new platform.
MoistCr1TiKal mentioned that every time he modified the stream’s title, it would revert to the original title he had used six years ago when he initially tried out the platform.
Furthermore, he discovered post-stream that his broadcast quality had been set to 720p, resulting in occasional blurriness.
An additional significant problem Moist encountered was that YouTube did not send notifications to his subscribers when he went live. The platform, owned by Google, restricts channels to three notifications per day to prevent spam.
Charlie also pointed out that he had forgotten YouTube streams require a thumbnail, which is not automatically generated from the broadcast. This led viewers to see only a black box.
