How to Edit PS4 Videos on PC in Four Simple Steps

Finished recording your gameplay on PS4? Well, now it’s time to edit your PS4 clip before publishing it on your social media. Unfortunately, many people have no idea about how to edit PS4 videos on PC. Chill out, buddies! We’ll walk you through the steps to polish your PS4 video in simple ways.

Similar to the PlayStation 3 (PS3), you will still be offered the option of editing videos recorded on your PlayStation 4 (PS4) before you upload them or share them with your friends. However, you may notice that the editing features may be a bit more plain or restrictive. Let’s take a look at how you can actually do this in several steps.

What You Need To Prepare

Before starting to edit your PS4 recording, you’ll need to prepare several things. Those are as follows:

  1. A PS4 and the controller
  2. USB stick
  3. A laptop or modern PC with editing software

Once you’ve managed to prepare all of that stuff, now let’s move on to the tutorial.

It’s a pretty neat addition to the PS4’s DualShock 4 controller. As illustrated by the attached image, you can simply click on the share button which will then take you to the share interface (as shown in step 1). Trust me, it’s really useful!

Note: You can always change, set, or configure the share button settings from the share interface (Sharing settings).

1. Upload Video Clip

Continue to upload the video clip and it will take you into the capture. After that, you can go ahead and browse through your recorded video clips and then simply select the file by clicking on it once. If you’ve previously used a PS3, you’ll notice that it’s a lot faster for this step.

2. Trim and Review

Click edit to start editing your PS4-recorded video. Unfortunately, you can only trim your video clip by adding a start and end point. You can choose to edit your clip based on the included interval presets (ie 1, 5, 10-60 seconds). Once trimmed, only preview your clip.

3. Share to Facebook

The sharing flexibility of your PS4 recording video clips (or edited clips) to YouTube is not currently supported. This feature may be re-upgraded in the future due to popular demand. However, you can still upload them to your Facebook account. Name your video clip and hit share with the accompanying comment.

4. LIVE Broadcast (optional)

On the latest PS4, you can now stream LIVE Ustream or Twitch gameplay. Simply log in to your account or sign-up for a convenient one with an onscreen wizard. Remember to uncheck the microphone and on-screen display comments box if you prefer to stream without it. You can change it back whenever you feel like it.

Conclusion

So, that’s about how to edit PS4 videos on a laptop or PC. Isn’t it simple? Now, you can enhance the look of your video and make it more stunning.
